ESO Tank Monster Sets – Earthgore

Set bonus

1 item: Adds 4% Healing Done.

2 items: When you heal yourself or a group member that is under 50% Health, you conjure a pool of blood underneath them, immediately removing all harmful area effects, and healing the lowest Health group member in the area after 2 seconds for 1702 Health every 2 seconds over 8 seconds. This effect can occur once every 20 seconds and scales off the higher of your Max Magicka or Stamina.

Set Rating:
2 out of 5.

Where to obtain:
Veteran Bloodroot Forge, Urgalarg Chief-bane.

Comments:
This is not as good for Tanks since the Blackwood DLC because it now scales with Max Stamina or Magicka and for a Tank this basically means the healing from this set decreased by about 10k. Over the duration of a fight you actually get more self healing on average from Engine Guardian than you would from Earthgore.

You proc Earthgore by using a self healing skill while under 50% health. It does activate from Health Potions and from using healing synergies such as the one from Blood Altar so you need to be careful not to waste it. When you proc Earthgore, it will heal the lowest health ally stood inside the blood pool.

This set is mostly used in vCR and will work ok with the 20 second cooldown for the Execute Main Tank if they struggle to heal up after Baneful Mark, you will be able to proc this for every Baneful but you might find Troll King performs better in this situation.

A main perk of Earthgore is it removes placed enemy effects from the ground, so for example in vAS when Llothis teleports it leaves a Poison AoE on the ground, you can stand in the AoE Llothis leaves behind, proc Earthgore with a self heal and it will remove the poison AoE. If you are doing content with random groups or using the Dungeon Finder it can be helpful to use this as you may not have a healer, or someone who is reliable and knows what to do.

In terms of self healing, you would get a better result from using the Puncturing Remedy set.
