Sunspire Information
Welcome to The Tank Club: ESO Sunspire Main Tank Build.
Sunspire is a DLC 12-person trial located in Northern Elsweyr. It was the eight trial that was introduced into The Elder Scrolls Online with the Elsweyr Chapter in June 2019. This was the first trial to be introduced with hardmodes for each individual boss fight.
This trial has 3 Dragon bosses each with their own Hardmode and a range of different add pulls in between the boss areas.
These Main Tank Builds are tried and tested setups used for Sunspire on standard veteran, used in hardmode and even used for Godslayer runs.
We have skill and gear options for all classes, platforms and experience levels.

- Crimson Oath is used in this Console/Static build because you need it for the add pulls and the add phases on the boss fights.

- Yolnahkriin for the stats and Minor Aegis, Engine Guardian for the huge sustain and healing, then Crest of Cyrodiil for extra self healing if you really need it or Worm for your own sustain.
- Worm and Yolnahkriin would be best since they provide the group with buffs as well as you but if you are suffering from a lack of healing then Crest is the best option for this situation.

- This build is for range Tanking.
- You don’t need to Block in this fight, just Defensive Stance to reflect ALL damage back at the boss.
- As soon as the boss lands – Use a 500 Ult Warhorn with Nazaray after proccing Major Vulnerability with Turning Tide – this will last virtually the whole phase until the boss flies away.
- You could also use 1x Bloodspawn & 1x Stormfist for Stamina Recovery. If your sustain is fine then use Baron Zaudrus is another option.
- Asylum Ice Staff back bar because you can cast Crushing Shock regularly in between Defensive Stances for Minor Brittle.
- Use The Worm’s Raiment if you are dealing with longer fights.
- You could use Yolnahkriin and Crimson Oath’s Rive if your group has low DPS and then the Off Tank would use Turning Tide and Powerful Assault.

- The most important part of this fight is the add phase which is why Crimson Oath’s Rive is good here. You will be overpen on the Boss but the adds are usually what make or break this fight aside from the Portal which you cant control.

Class
Any class can be used for Tanking this trial but Dragonknights are usually preferred due to their unique group buffs. Classes such as Necromancers can struggle with range Tanking due to their main healing skill Hungry Scythe requiring you to be in melee range.
Race
Any race can be used.
Imperial for the overall sustain and lower cost Ultimate.
Redguard for the Stamina sustain if this is something you struggle with.
Nord for the additional resistances, Ultimate gain, Health and Stamina.
Mundus
The best Mundus Stone to use here is The Atronach for the extra Magicka Recovery, there is a lot of Magicka casting for the Tanks in this trial so this is important to help with sustain. The only other potential useful Mundus is The Lady if you are struggling with the incoming damage and you have really low resistances (under 25k) or you are low champion points.
Attributes
For this trial you should aim for minimum 40k Health, 20k+ Magicka and 25k+ Stamina.
Food
As standard we use the Bewitched Sugar Skulls which gives Max Health, Magicka and Stamina plus more Health Recovery because all resources are very important here.
Potions
You can use regular Tri-Stat potions here, there are no special requirements. You could use Immovable Potions for emergency situations when you are inside a Time Stop AoE mid-mechanic and can’t get out if you are not using the skill Immovable.
