The Atronach is the most popular Mundus Stone for Tanks in ESO.
In virtually all situations, The Atronach offers more benefits than any other Mundus Stone for an ESO Tank. This is primarily due to the heavy reliance on Magicka-based skills for self-healing and crowd control.
When blocking, Magicka recovery continues, whereas Stamina recovery is halted. Some Tank classes have Magicka-based skills that can return Stamina while blocking, making Magicka even more critical for sustained blocking.
Why The Atronach is Essential for Tanks:
Sustain: The most crucial aspect of surviving as a Tank is sustain. Magicka recovery is vital for maintaining your ability to cast spells and use skills effectively.
Magicka Skills: With ample Magicka, you can heal, shield, and crowd control, which are essential for protecting yourself and your group.
Blocking Mechanics: Since Stamina recovery is disabled while blocking and Health Recovery isn’t significantly beneficial, Magicka regeneration remains the only useful sustain-based Mundus Stone available for Tanks.

The Lady

Lady Mundus Location: The Lady Mundus Stone – ESO Hub
The Steed is another useful Mundus Stone, particularly beneficial in Cloudrest and Asylum Sanctorium. When combined with Divines gear, The Steed increases both movement speed and Health Recovery. However, outside of these specific locations, it isn’t as crucial.
The Lady is most useful for Tanks who are not Nords and need to boost their resistances for hard veteran content. This Mundus is helpful when you need extra resistances to survive challenging encounters. High resistances can be achieved through Major & Minor Resolve, Champion Points, passives, Defending 1-Handed Weapon, and Reinforced Trait gear. While maxing out resistances isn’t necessary for all content, having 25k+ resistances allows you to complete most content comfortably. Resistances cap at 33.1k, so any value above this when buffed is wasted. High resistance is particularly beneficial when employing high-risk strategies, dealing with significant damage while unblocked, or tackling new content with heavy DoT and Bleed damage.
Aside from these, no other Mundus Stone is particularly useful for Tanking. Max stat Mundus Stones have become less relevant since the Flame of Ambitions patch, which introduced max stat boosts and minimum stats, allowing players to achieve high max stats without the minor increase from a stat Mundus.
