Players explore the alien planet of Rixa following a failed human colonisation, operating from a central carrier hub while tackling story-driven PvE content and five-player dungeons.

Its standout feature is the Nanobot ability system, which replaces traditional mana with colour-based resources generated through class choice and weapon stats. Abilities require specific nanobot combinations, encouraging more deliberate planning in combat. Gameplay is tab-target focused, with an emphasis on weapons, gadgets, turrets, drones, and airstrikes rather than traditional armour. Information remains limited, but as one of the few sci-fi MMORPGs targeting 2026, Rixa brings some welcome variety to an otherwise fantasy-heavy lineup.

Perfect New World

Launch date: Very unlikely to release

Perfect New World was an action MMORPG spin-off of the Perfect World IP that, at one point, looked genuinely promising. Early footage showcased fast-paced combat, seamless exploration, and a modern action-focused take on the long-running franchise, supported by frequent trailers and developer updates.

However, momentum completely stalled in late 2023. Official communication stopped, development updates ceased, and reports surfaced of studio layoffs and internal restructuring. With no public activity, no roadmap, and no signs of continued development, Perfect New World now appears to have been quietly shelved. While nothing has been formally cancelled, all available evidence suggests it is extremely unlikely to ever see a release.

Into The Echo

Launch date: Very unlikely to release

Into The Echo was an ambitious MMORPG project built around time travel, player identity, and a shared sci-fi fantasy world called Raava. The core idea was to move away from traditional levelling, focusing instead on reputation, crafting, exploration, and community-driven progression across multiple eras of history.

Unfortunately, development appears to have halted entirely. The official website is inaccessible, social channels are inactive, and the Discord has seen little meaningful engagement since 2023. With no updates, no communication, and no visible progress for a prolonged period, Into The Echo is best viewed as inactive and highly unlikely to ever reach a release.

Looking Beyond This List – What Else Could Be Coming?

Even with more than 30 MMORPGs covered here, this still isn’t the full picture. There are several other MMO projects that could eventually emerge beyond 2026, including Project Ragnarok (NetEase), Riot’s MMORPG, Guild Wars 3, EverQuest 3, Aion Mobile, Final Fantasy XIV Mobile, and other long-rumoured or early-stage projects from major studios.

Some of these are years away, others may never materialise but that uncertainty is exactly what defines the MMORPG genre right now.

If even a portion of these games land successfully, 2026 could mark one of the most diverse and exciting years MMORPG players have seen in a long time.
