The MMORPG Daily Drop - Your Daily MMORPG News
Welcome to the June 12 edition of the MMORPG Daily Drop. Chrono Odyssey’s first wave of beta coverage is rolling in, drawing comparisons to New World with some early red flags. Meanwhile, World of Warcraft Classic is about to expand with Legacy of Arathor, and Albion Online drops an atmospheric trailer ahead of its Abyssal Depths revamp. Toss in event updates from EverQuest II and Trove, and a relaunch deep dive for Fractured Online, there’s plenty happening across the MMO world today.

Chrono Odyssey – Early Beta Impressions Spark Mixed Reactions
The first hands-on previews for Chrono Odyssey are out, and while the game’s time-warp combat mechanics have sparked interest, there are concerns over polish and balance. Many testers compared the game to New World, citing its fluid weapon-swapping system and stamina-based dodging, but noted the absence of defensive options and clean animations. Players praised the deep character customisation and flexible skill trees, but boss fights have drawn heat for their overtuned difficulty, lacking visual clarity and fair counterplay.
Another hands-on breakdown focused on boss design, calling them intentionally slow and punishing. Time-manipulation tools like cooldown resets and slow-motion dodges add strategic layers, but can’t compensate for the massive health pools and sparse recovery windows. Chrono Odyssey’s upcoming beta on June 20 will give a wider audience a chance to experience its strengths and growing pains first-hand.

The video hints at revamped early-game progression, with the new journal system dividing tutorials into three structured paths. These improvements arrive June 30 and aim to ease new players into Albion’s famously open-ended systems.
