Beginner Build
This build can be put together for around 50,000-80,000 silver and it’s a great setup for new Tanks to get starting with PvE content in Albion Online.
You want to use the Tier 4 gear and you’ll need to equip this gear as soon as possible to begin levelling it on the Destiny Board. You won’t have access to the skills suggested here to begin with for example – you need Mace Fighter 40 to unlock the Air Compressor ability.
This build offers you the tools to increase your Defense, Health and overall survivability along with maintaining good Threat on the enemies and great crowd control and debuffs to help your mobs of enemies quicker.

Mace & Shield Build
Using this build is the natural progression from the beginner build. You don’t need to use Tier 8+ gear but you should use a higher tier than the beginner build.
You can start to think about removing some of your Plate Armor and begin using Cloth and Leather to add additional benefits but only if you are comfortable and feel safe doing so. You usually do this by switching the Head and Feet slots and this will allow you to adjust your build to accommodate other areas of combat rather than just defence
- Assassin Shoes – Dodge allows you to leap towards the enemy and become immune to damage, debuffs and crowd control.
- Stalker Hood – Mortal Agony reduces enemies resistance and increases your damage & threat.
- Cultist Sandals – Rotten Ground decreases enemies damage resistance and healing received.
The Mistcaller has been added as an option because it can help you have your cooldowns ready much more often. It’s used in place of your shield so you’ll have less defence and less threat generation but you’ll be able to hit abilities much more frequently.

Greataxe Build
This is a more advanced build which has a very different playstyle to the other two builds. Use this when you are experienced at Tanking and are looking to develop your build.
This build is more of a Hybrid Tank/Damage Dealer and it has a really high energy consumption so you’ll need to try and manage that.
