Throne & Liberty Confirms Housing System and PvP Battlegrounds for September
NCSoft and Amazon Games dropped a bombshell during their latest dev stream: housing is officially coming to Throne & Liberty in September. This new system, dubbed “field to floor,” will let players gather, craft, and decorate fully customizable homes across various locations. Every player will unlock access through a narrative questline, and yes, you can own more than one house. Alongside this lifestyle update, a new battlegrounds PvP mode will debut, launching with 24v24 matchups and scaling up over time. Players can also expect a new orb weapon for support builds, revamped dimensional trials, catch-up servers, achievement systems, and a teased new ranged magic class.
OSRS Surges Past 200K Players Ahead of Varlamore Finale
Jagex is bracing for one of the busiest weeks in Old School RuneScape’s recent history as Varlamore: The Final Dawn launches today. The studio announced that player numbers have spiked beyond 200,000 concurrent users, an incredible milestone that prompted the immediate addition of eight new servers across the US and UK. While some debate whether this figure includes bots or multiboxers, many in the community are calling it the start of a “platinum age” for OSRS. Meanwhile, RuneScape’s modern counterpart is conducting a bold monetization experiment by disabling its Treasure Hunter lockboxes through July 28. In their place, Jagex is offering limited-purchase XP bundles while collecting feedback on how this impacts gameplay and sentiment.
New World Devs Address Endgame and PvP in Community Q&A
New World: Aeternum developers gathered for a rapid-fire community Q&A covering everything from endgame to procedural dungeons. On the PvP front, a revamped reward track is on the horizon, and more gear will be scattered throughout the world. Procedural dungeons and new weapons are in the pipeline, while farming is still in the prototyping phase. The developers also addressed seasonal release formats and monetization concerns, hinting at a more robust roadmap for the future.
