Chrono Odyssey Devs Address Major Beta Feedback in Post-Mortem
Chrono Studio has released Part 1 of its post-beta Developer Note, outlining the extensive feedback received during June’s closed beta test of Chrono Odyssey. Players enjoyed the game’s world and time travel themes, but performance issues, sluggish combat, clunky controls, and graphical problems were front and center.
The developers have committed to a full overhaul of combat responsiveness and animations, revamped camera mechanics, and a new “Matrix” weapon progression system. Performance optimizations include dynamic collision loading, instanced mesh rendering, and improved shaders with DLSS/FSR support.
A follow-up Part 2 will address UI, progression, sound design, and server stability. While the game is still targeting a late 2025 release, the team says they’re not afraid to delay if quality isn’t up to standard.
Orna’s July Update Brings Back Ragnarok, Adds Legendary Followers
Orna’s summer update has returned its Ragnarok event, letting players battle Norse-inspired bosses and collect runes to summon the powerful Jormungandr Super Raid. A tier-10 variant, Fey Jormungandr, has also been added for top-tier players.
Other event activities include the “Paths of Fomoria” with Greek-themed rewards and a Canada Day questline available until July 12. New legendary followers and sprites have joined the roster, and quality-of-life updates like improved tower interactions, favoriting followers, and new XP bar animations enhance usability.
Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen Shares Combat Stat Philosophy
Pantheon’s Creative Director Chris “Joppa” Perkins has released a new dev diary focused on how stats should feel impactful at every level. New systems like “power milestones” every five levels will soon offer automatic stat boosts, and non-raid gear is being reassessed for more build flexibility.
The update also discusses “soft specialization,” where players can lean into stat-based ability boosts (e.g., Agility for Rogues). These changes follow the recent Ashbreathers patch and are part of the game’s evolving Early Access balancing roadmap.
Dungeons & Dragons Online Prepares for 64-Bit Server Migration
Starting July 15, Dungeons and Dragons Online will begin free transfers to new 64-bit servers: Cormyr, Shadowdale, Thrane, and Moonsea. Players will receive 13 extra character slots and a store code (“100SLOTS”) for a shared bank upgrade.
Transfers are open until August 31, after which the old 32-bit servers will be retired. Notably, Monster Manual progress won’t carry over, meaning players can re-earn those rewards from scratch.
Palia’s Solstice Bloom Update Adds Manual Name Changes and Mimics
The cozy MMO Palia is letting players change their in-game name—both full and nickname—manually every 30 days, without contacting support. The update also adds five new Discovery Quests, collectible plushies (including one from fishing), and a Mimic pet disguised as a treasure chest.
Solstice Bloom goes live on July 8, and players can expect more roadmap content in future updates following the Radiant Rising release.
PSA: Aion North America Is Deleting Inactive Characters
NCsoft is deleting characters from Aion NA accounts that haven’t logged in since January 2020. Players have until July 14 to log in and preserve their characters. The announcement was quietly confirmed via Discord after players received emails, not ideal communication for something so critical.
The character data purge is part of an effort to improve server maintenance speed and performance.
Persist Online Details Hardcore PvP Karma System
CipSoft’s upcoming MMO Persist Online has revealed details of its Karma-based PvP system. All players begin with 5,000 Karma, which adjusts based on actions like zombie kills or player murder.
Negative Karma players become open targets and suffer steeper XP penalties, longer respawn times, and visibility to nearby players. Dropping below -5,000 Karma activates an “Insanity” debuff that weakens your combat abilities, while aggressive players are marked with a 10-minute debuff for retaliation.
The team is also introducing a Slaughterhouse 05 zone where red players respawn and trade among their own. PvP toggles can prevent accidental flagging by allowing damage only to hostile Karma players.
