Elder Scrolls Online – July Update Brings Free Scribing & PvP Campaigns
Zenimax Online has unveiled the July roadmap for The Elder Scrolls Online, leading with Update 47, which will officially make Scribing free for all players. Starting June 30, PvPers can dive into the Cyrodiil Scramble Golden Pursuits, and a new Vengeance Campaign will test players level 10–50 in an open-world, stat-normalized battlefield. These updates follow the ongoing Zeal of Zenithar event (ending July 8), with global bonuses for players embracing both noble trade and shady hustle.
Erenshor – QoL Patch Adds Minimap, Ranged Combat, and Bellwain Island
Solo “MMO simulator” Erenshor just rolled out its most requested quality-of-life update. Players can now toggle a minimap and quest markers, adjust XP and loot rates, and even scale enemy health via a new Server Admin panel. Also new: ranged weapon support, teasing the arrival of future ranged classes. The update also opens Bellwain Island, a spooky summer island full of rumours, treasure, and ghostly threats.
Black Desert Online – New PvP Dragon Mount: The Doomcaller
Pearl Abyss has introduced the Doomcaller, a massive PvP-exclusive dragon mount in Black Desert Online. To obtain it, guilds must dominate in large-scale PvP events. The new update bolsters the game’s elite power fantasy, letting victors literally soar above the battlefield. It’s a status symbol for those bold enough to earn it and ruthless enough to keep it.
Final Fantasy – FFXIV Players Get Discounted Access to FFXI
Square Enix is offering Final Fantasy XIV players a nostalgic trip back to Final Fantasy XI with a limited-time discounted subscription: just $6.95 for 30 days between July 1–18. This offer includes a revival of Celestial Nights, FFXI’s original star-crossed lovers event where players can win yukatas, swimsuits, and more. The gesture comes as FFXIV fans react to recent transparency around missed features and developer burnout.
Project Ghost – Red Zones Are Fully Handcrafted, Open World PvP Zones
Fantastic Pixel Castle has clarified one of Project Ghost’s core features: the Red Zones. Unlike the instanced, procedural Blue Zones, red zones are entirely hand-built by the devs and meant to host open, PvP-enabled group content. These public zones will concentrate players together in massive dynamic environments designed to feel like classic MMORPG shared spaces.
Red Zones will serve as long-term progression areas with story relevance, while Blue Zones offer private, procedural content. The devs want to ensure players have incentives to explore both, not just opt for one or the other.
Odin: Valhalla Rising – Elite Summer Dungeon and PvP Chaos Arrive
Kakao Games has dropped a scorching summer update for Odin: Valhalla Rising. The centerpiece is the Shadow Fortress, an elite PvPvE dungeon where guilds can earn legendary-grade loot and materials for the new Imprint system. Inside this zone, player killing is fully enabled, and names are hidden to amp up the paranoia. Also included are summer island events and swimsuit outfits for every class.
