Obtaining the Best Gear in Tarisland

In Tarisland, obtaining the best gear comes with certain restrictions and progressive releases of content. As new content becomes available, so does progressively better gear. Currently, there is top-tier gear available that you can aim for to optimise your build.

To truly maximise your character’s potential, you need to focus on acquiring Set gear. Each class and specialisation has unique sets, and switching specialisations will change your set accordingly.

A Set consists of multiple pieces of gear that provide additional benefits with each piece you equip. Initially, you’ll likely be using standard dungeon gear, which can boost your Gearscore up to 100. However, you’ll be significantly weaker compared to someone using Set gear.

There are four crucial components of gear you should aim for:

  1. 8-Piece Set: Provides additional stats and bonuses at 3, 5, and 8 pieces.
  2. 2-Piece Set: Grants bonus stats for equipping both pieces.
  3. Unique Badge: Offers unique stat benefits.
  4. Unique Weapon: Also provides unique stat benefits.

Combining these elements allows you to maximise your character’s potential.

The easiest way to obtain these set pieces is by participating in Elite Raids. Additionally, you can receive one set piece per week from the Arcane Realm Weekly Chest if you’ve completed the Arcane Realm that week. Note that you can only earn one set piece reward per week from each Elite Raid, which resets every Friday. If you miss a raid, you’ll receive a Lucky Coin, allowing you to get double rewards the following week so you don’t fall behind.

To stay on top of your gear progression, make sure to complete the Arcane Realm at least once a week and participate in each Elite Raids weekly.

Normal Raids Drop 90 Gearscore Gear, Elite Raids Drop 100 Gearscore Gear, Epic Raids Drop 110 Gearscore Gear
Alternatively Completing Spider Queen Elite/Epic can reward Necklace, Armor, Greaves, Ring, Helmet or Boots. And Blight Dragon Elite/Epic rewards both Unique Badges, Shoulder, Cape, Belt and Unique Weapon.

Special Aptitudes in Tarisland

Special Aptitudes are essentially gear perks that provide powerful additional benefits to your skills. These perks, randomly obtained on gear, can significantly enhance how some of your skills work or add extra functionality, making them very potent.

Special Aptitude effects can stack, so having multiple pieces of gear with the same effect is beneficial. Additionally, since there are multiple types of Special Aptitudes, you can focus on acquiring different ones for each gear piece.

There are three sets of Special Aptitudes:

  1. Set One: Applies to Leather Gauntlets, Chest, Ring, Shoulder Guards, Cape, and Belt. These pieces share the same aptitude options, with 7 possible choices.
  2. Set Two: Includes Accessories, Gauntlets, Greaves, Necklace, Helmet, Boots, and Badge. These pieces also have 7 unique aptitude options.
  3. Weapons: Have their own set of 7 aptitude options.

In total, there are 21 different Special Aptitudes, each tied to a specific skill. Always ensure that the Special Aptitude you have is beneficial for the skills you are using. If an aptitude is tied to a skill you don’t use, it’s best to switch it via Tempering as soon as possible.

To maximise the benefits of Special Aptitudes, consider which skills you use most frequently. Typically, your first three skills are cast every few seconds, making aptitudes that enhance these skills the most useful. There are no aptitudes for your main AoE skill, and the final two skills often have long cooldowns, so decide if it’s worth applying Special Aptitudes to these less frequently used skills.

When you see the term “Echo of Destiny,” it refers to the Fatuina Echo, which is triggered via your Inscribe Stone system. For more information, check the starting node.

Gems in Tarisland

Gems are an essential part of enhancing your gear in Tarisland, providing you with additional stats to strengthen your character. Here’s a breakdown of how to slot gems based on gear pieces:

  • Belt, Cape, Gauntlet: Blue Gems (Defensive Gems)
  • Accessory, Necklace, Ring: Red Gems (Offensive Gems)
  • Weapon: Yellow Gems (Specialization Gems)

You can obtain gems through crafting, defeating World Bosses, purchasing from the market, or opening exploration chests. It’s crucial to equip gems in every slot, starting with Tier 1 gems. As you progress and defeat World Bosses every few days, you can work towards acquiring Tier 2 and Tier 3 gems, which are the best available.

Matching the correct gems to your class and specialisation is vital for optimal performance. For instance, defensive gems improve your survival, while offensive gems improve DPS.

Defeating World Bosses also gives you a chance to obtain Colourful Gems. These unique gems come in various types, and you can only use one of each type at a time. Unlike regular gems, Colourful Gems can be slotted into any slot regardless of its colour, and they are typically much stronger than normal gems.

Empowering Gear in Tarisland

Empowering gear is another crucial way to enhance your character in Tarisland, providing additional stats. Typically, this applies to gear pieces where gems cannot be slotted:

  • Head, Chest, Legs: Defensive Empower
  • Shoulder, Boots, Leather Gauntlets: Offensive Empower
  • Weapon: Specialisation Empower

To empower your gear, you’ll need several materials, including silver, Arcane Ash/Dust/Crystal (obtained from selling higher-level gear), and Runes (crafted by Alchemists, bought from the Trade Center, or from the Manual of Destiny Shop).

There are three tiers of empowerments: Green, Blue, and Purple. Initially, you should apply the Green tier, as it is very accessible. Progressing to the Blue tier is a bit more expensive. When you reach the Purple tier, you will have multiple options to choose from, and these will provide two stats instead of just one. The best option will vary between classes and specialisations, so choose wisely based on your build and role.

Tempering Gear in Tarisland

Tempering is a vital process where you transfer stats or special aptitudes from an unused piece of gear to a piece of gear you actively use. This is important because your Set gear might not always have the preferred stats you want for your build.

To get the desired stats or special aptitudes, you can farm additional gear pieces or buy them from the dungeon store. Once you have the gear with the stats or aptitudes you need, go to the tempering tab. Select the Set gear piece you want to improve, then select the gear with the desired stats or aptitude in the adjacent slot. You will need Silver and Arcane Ash/Dust/Crystals to complete the transfer. The unwanted piece of gear will be consumed in the process, and the desired stats or aptitudes will be transferred to your Set gear.
