Guild Wars 2 Reveals Visions of Eternity Expansion, Launching October 28
ArenaNet has officially unveiled Visions of Eternity, the next expansion for Guild Wars 2, slated for release on October 28. This new chapter takes players to Castora, a mysterious island shrouded in ley energy and ancient magic. Launch day will include two fully playable maps, with more arriving throughout 2026 as part of ArenaNet’s ongoing expansion update cadence.
The new expansion introduces a full set of elite specializations, one for each profession, bringing fresh traits, utility skills, and playstyles. A beta for all nine elite specs will run from August 20–27, giving players an early taste of what’s coming. The aquatic Skimmer mount also gets a long-awaited upgrade through three new mastery lines, enabling deeper exploration and customization.
One of the biggest new features is a beachfront Homestead plot, along with a new Layout system that lets players save and share their housing configurations. This marks a major expansion of the game’s housing system, following feedback from Janthir Wilds. ArenaNet also confirmed that Visions of Eternity will include a new 10-player raid, new legendary gear, and continued story updates through 2026.
Pre-orders are now live, starting at $25 for the base edition, with Deluxe and Ultimate editions offering bonus cosmetics, a character slot, and up to 4,000 gems.
BitCraft Roadmap Promises Housing, PvP, Deeper Combat, and Dungeons
Clockwork Labs has shared a sweeping roadmap for BitCraft that outlines planned updates through the end of 2025. Among the most anticipated additions is the long-awaited player housing system, expected to arrive this month. Housing will include new customization options, decorations, and expanded social features.
Also coming this year: opt-in PvP, the first PvE dungeons, deeper gathering and crafting mechanics, and a skill system expansion. The studio is also preparing Empire Battles, a large-scale PvP format, and intends to support more languages.
To support transparency, Clockwork Labs plans to introduce monthly livestream updates and a new developer podcast to keep players informed between patches. The team is aiming to maintain a regular cadence of weekly micro-updates and one major monthly patch moving forward.
World of Warcraft Housing Playable at Gamescom, Expansion Cinematic Incoming
Blizzard is going big for Gamescom 2025, kicking off with a full cinematic reveal of the Midnight expansion during Opening Night Live on August 19. Visitors to the WoW booth (Hall 8, Cologne) from August 20–24 will also get hands-on access to the long-awaited player housing system.
Players will be able to test out building, customizing, and decorating homes, marking the first public look at the upcoming feature. Blizzard has promised more reveals, livestreams, and announcements during the event, making it one of the studio’s biggest public showings in years.
WoW Classic: Mists of Pandaria Launches July 21
Blizzard is reminding players that Mists of Pandaria Classic launches next week on July 21, with a full content lander now live. Players who complete the Pandaren starting experience by July 30 will unlock a special Wind Serpent mount for use in the retail version of World of Warcraft.
The expansion includes challenge modes, scenarios, Tillers farming, classic raids and dungeons, and a variety of systems reworked for the Classic experience. The pre-patch is already live for players to get started.
Blade & Soul Heroes Heads to KCON and Gamescom Ahead of September Launch
NC America is ramping up promotion for Blade & Soul Heroes, its upcoming cross-platform action MMORPG. The game will be playable at KCON LA from August 1–3, offering hands-on previews to fans at booth S03.
Following that, Blade & Soul Heroes will appear at Gamescom in Cologne (August 20–23), as part of NC’s full 2025–2026 lineup. Pre-registration is already live, with rewards for both mobile and PC users. The global launch is scheduled for September 2 across Steam, Steam Deck, iOS, Android, and NC’s PURPLE platform.

Stars Reach Backend Upgrades Bring Lusher Worlds and Graphics Overhaul
Stars Reach has rolled out its “Cosmic Calibration” update, which significantly boosts backend infrastructure. The devs now support up to 50,000 trees per map, with improved draw distance, more detailed vegetation, and better performance across the board.
Playable Worlds also shared early visuals of a graphical overhaul, with improvements to plants, player props, and eventually character models. Upcoming changes include better cave formation, sunrise rendering, and a series of performance tweaks.
Borderlands Online Resurrected in Playable Form by Mod Team
After nearly a decade in limbo, Borderlands Online has been revived in a playable state by the community. Originally a China-exclusive MMO that shut down in 2015, the game has been partially restored thanks to efforts led by modder EpicNNG.
While much of the game remains non-functional, internal teams working on the project were recently able to launch and interact with a build, marking a major milestone for video game preservation. More updates are expected as development continues.
LORDNINE Opens Global Pre-Registration
Smilegate Megaport has opened global pre-registration for LORDNINE: Infinite Class, its award-winning MMORPG that previously launched in South Korea. Players can now sign up on the official site for launch-day rewards.
The title’s standout feature is its “Infinite Class” system, allowing full freedom in class and combat style combinations. The game is powered by a modified Unity engine with motion capture and 3D photo scanning, promising a polished visual experience on PC and mobile.
ZeniMax Online Devs Confirm Blackbird MMORPG Canceled, But Team Remains Employed
ZeniMax Online Studios United-CWA has issued a statement confirming that the rumoured MMORPG codenamed Blackbird has officially been cancelled. However, the union clarified that no layoffs have yet occurred, and all team members remain employed with full pay and benefits.
The team is currently negotiating with Microsoft over what comes next, but says the support from the community and press for their unreleased work has been deeply appreciated.
Riot Games MMO Still in Early Stages, Says New Job Posting
A new job listing for a Principal Level Designer confirms Riot’s long-gestating MMO remains in “early concept development.” The posting calls for experienced MMO designers to help shape the project’s world and progression systems from prototype to launch.
Though vague on gameplay, the listing hints that the project hasn’t yet reached full pre-production, reaffirming that the wait for the next major MMO from Riot is far from over.
