Hello and welcome to the Tank Club. Today we're diving back into the world of Albion
0:10
Online. Just like in many other MMORPGs, there's a real demand for skilled tanks and that's
0:18
where we come in. Whether you're new to tanking or aiming to master the toughest hardcore
0:24
expeditions, we've got you covered. From PvE battles to PvP clashes and the massive
0:30
ZvZ confrontations, our guide features six robust tank builds tailored for every stage
0:38
of your journey. Stay tuned as we explore each build in detail, helping you enhance
0:44
your gameplay in Albion Online. Let's get started and turn you into the tank that every
0:50
team wants to have in 2024. So to get things started we're going to go with our Albion Online Beginner Tank Build
0:58
This is a budget-friendly basic build for beginners looking to try out tanking in Albion
1:04
Online, which provides the tools to increase defence, your health, your overall survivability
1:09
while also maintaining good threat and crowd control, while debuffing enemies as well
1:15
It's a great setup to get started in some of the easier PvE content and works especially
1:19
well when with a partner or a group. You need to equip this gear as soon as possible
1:24
to begin levelling it on the Destiny Board and a big focus at this stage is on farming
1:29
fame. You won't have access to all of the skills suggested here in this build to begin
1:34
with. For example, you need Mace Fighter 40 to unlock the Air Compressor ability. You
1:40
also want to think about once you reach Plate Armour 30 on the chest and the head, switch
1:45
your feet to Hunter's Shoes to level up that. This is going to help you later on in the
1:49
game. By the time you reach Plate Armour 30, you'll be able to tank with just two pieces
1:54
of Plate Armour because you'll be able to get to your sixth gear. So the suggested IP for this build is just straight away, any IP. The sort of content
2:03
you're going to be looking at doing, sort of expeditions, group dungeons and in those
2:07
safe yellow zones. And generally you don't want to upgrade this gear past 4.1 because
2:13
there's no point going much higher tier. This is sort of a starter build. So the gear
2:17
you're looking at with this build is the Soldier Helmet, the Guardian Armour, Guardian Boots
2:22
and then you want to equip that Incubus Mace, the Sarcophagus Shield, which will buff your
2:27
defence and threat generation. The cape for this build, you want to use the Martlock Cape
2:33
This will give you a nice spell so when your health drops low, you will get a shield that
2:37
will increase your defence for a few seconds. And then for the other stuff, potions, you
2:42
want to go with the healing potion to begin with because while you are low level, you're going to probably need that. And then the Goat's Sandwich, which is going to increase
2:48
your max health because you are going to have quite low max health while you are starting
2:52
out in the game. On your Incubus Mace, Threatening Smash. This is going to do a cone in front
2:58
of you and it's going to be like an AoE. So you're going to be able to grab aggro of enemies
3:02
by using this. Eventually you'll unlock Air Compressor. This is super, super strong. This
3:06
is really where you start to learn how to tank because you can start vacuum pulling
3:10
things into a nice big stack and also increasing threat as well with this skill. So this is
3:16
a great way to clump enemies up and that's what tanking is all about. So you want to
3:20
run around, pick enemies up, clump them up and then your group are going to kill them
3:26
Once you've got the enemies clumped up with Air Compressor, you then want to use Shrinking Curse. So this is going to make the enemies shrink in size, it's going to reduce their
3:34
max health and it's going to increase the damage that your group are doing to the enemies
3:38
So this is something that you need to be calling out for your group. This is why the tank being in control is very important because you need to be making sure you're using that
3:45
skill. You then want to go with Energetic to get some energy back from your auto attacks
3:49
When we look at the Guardian Armor, you've got Taunt on there so obviously you can get Taunt of enemies. You will switch this though because you might not need this for boss fights
3:57
You might have enough threat with your Threatening Smash and your perks that are going to buff
4:02
up your threat as well. So in that case you then want to use Enfeebling Aura which is
4:06
going to be a nice survival tool. For the passives on this one, you want the Toughness
4:10
to increase defense and then you also want Protective Instinct to increase your threat
4:15
generation really, really strong. For the Soldier Helmet, you've got Block. This is
4:20
a nice survival tool so you use this obviously at any point where you're taking quite a lot
4:24
of damage, it's causing you a bit of a problem, hit this and block it. To go with that, you've
4:29
got Toughness to increase your defense. On your shoes, you've got Giant. This is another
4:33
survival tool so you're going to increase your movement speed, you're going to increase your current and max health and you're going to become much bigger and it's a really good
4:40
way to survive as well when obviously Block is on cooldown. With that, you've also got
4:44
Toughness again to increase that defense. Now once you've got all your practice, you're
4:48
going to want to start moving on to some harder content so we're going to now look at our
4:52
Hardcore Expedition tank build. When you attempt to join a Hardcore Expedition, this is the
4:57
build your group will be expecting you to be using as a tank. And this is a very well-rounded
5:02
general build for tanking those Hardcore Expeditions. It is a really tough role to play. You'll
5:08
need to be kind of in control of your group, you'll need to be communicating, you'll need
5:12
to be pulling many enemies, crowd controlling them and then managing your cooldowns alongside
5:17
maintaining aggro of enemies. There are further optimizations or swaps as they are known in
5:22
Albion Online which can be made for specific Hardcore Expedition fights and bosses. As
5:28
you gain more experience, you'll need to obtain alternative gear and use different
5:32
skills to optimize for those specific situations, especially if you want to do the higher level
5:39
Hardcore Expedition. So you won't just be able to use this build forever. This is a good way to get started on the lower levels. As you are progressing to the harder level
5:45
difficulties, you are going to want those swaps and those pieces of gear that are going
5:49
to really help you out in the long term. So the suggested IP for this kind of build is
5:55
going to be 1200+. Obviously the content you're going to be doing is those Hardcore Expeditions
5:59
and you can start using this build from sort of tier 6, so get this gear in tier 6, but
6:03
tier 8 plus is where you really want to be going with it. So you've got high enough IP
6:08
to be able to tank everything within the Hardcore Expeditions. So for this build we have got
6:13
the Soldier Helmet, we have got the Guardian Armor again, so still the same from the beginner
6:18
build. So if you level these up by wearing them for the beginner build, this is now going to be valuable for you because you're going to have them available for this as well. Then
6:25
we've got the Royal Shoes. We're also just using a Mace Weapon for this build alongside
6:30
a Leering Cane to improve your cooldown rate and increase your crowd control durations
6:37
With this build we also use the Bridge Watch Cape and this gives us the skill Sandstorm
6:43
which will activate when you use your third slot ability and it will create a sandstorm
6:49
in a 5 meter radius that slows enemies and decreases their crowd control resistance
6:55
So a really really strong option to use while we are obviously running through this difficult
7:00
content. And then for the other little bits we've got the Pork Omelette and we've also
7:04
got the Major Poison Potion. Those Major Poison Potions, you throw the potion at a target
7:10
enemy, poisoning the target and dealing damage. Whenever the poisoned enemy takes direct damage
7:16
it will be slowed. So again it's another thing to help us out. And then with the Pork
7:20
Omelette it increases the cast speed and cooldown rate which is going to be extremely helpful
7:26
as we're going from Ad Pool to Ad Pool. Ok so for the skills. Now this setup relies on you to be using the Authority and Dread
7:34
Laden Fighting passives to extend the duration of crowd control effects. Notably your Snare
7:40
Charge which helps you keep enemies under control. You take a lot of damage when pulling
7:45
big stacks in hardcore expeditions. So the rest of your skills are used for quick maneuvering
7:50
and so you can pull and clump enemy stacks efficiently and receive as little damage as
7:54
possible. So the skills that we use here are Threatening Smash to gain AOE aggro of enemies
8:01
We've got Snare Charge which is used to leap to enemies, root them and then interrupt them
8:07
We have Deep Leap which again leap to enemies and become immune to damage and effects while
8:12
also slowing and stunning them. Then we've got that Dread Laden Fighting in there so
8:16
every auto attack increases the duration of your crowd control effects. So everything
8:20
that we're doing so far has got some crowd control elements in there and then this is
8:24
just going to extend the duration which is really really nice. Next we've got Enfeebling
8:29
Aura to create that aura that reduces incoming damage to you and your allies. We add in again
8:34
Authority in there to increase the duration of crowd control and some Protective Instinct
8:39
for that threat generation. Then we've got Block to Block attacks from enemies alongside
8:44
some more Authority for that crowd control. We then use Evasive Jump so leap to enemies
8:49
and become immune to effects once again. For boss fights it can be a good idea to use an
8:55
Astral Aegis Shield and switch your R skill to Taunt if you can, if it's needed. Next
9:02
we're onto my PvP tank build. While tanks are useful in PvP in Albion Online, this is
9:08
more so the case within large group PvP. So this build is more of a kind of bruiser
9:13
build used for those small or solo PvP situations like Arenas and Hellgates. You'd typically
9:20
want to have access to damage in these environments as crowd controlling is not enough when you've
9:25
only got a small group. But the playstyle of a sort of PvE ZvZ tank isn't far different
9:32
from this as you'll add in damage to go alongside the crowd control utility you'd expect from
9:37
a tank. You can start using this at a lower tier and lower IP as you progress in the PvP
9:43
environment and also level up your destiny board but the suggested IP would be sort of
9:47
1200+. The content you're going to be doing, PvP, Arenas, Hellgates, those kind of smaller
9:54
group bits of content and ideally you want to try and get this up to tier 8 for maximum
9:58
effect. The gear you're going to be using for this build includes the Assassin HUD
10:04
the Judicator armour and then the Duskweaver boots. We're going to have the Heavy Mace
10:09
with this build which is really really good for PvP. You're going to have levelled up
10:13
Mace already with the other builds when you're doing that PvE content so this is going to
10:17
fare well for you in PvP as well. For this build we'll be using the Bridge Watch Cape
10:22
for the sandstorm ability to slow enemies and reduce their crowd control resistance
10:26
which is really good for PvP. We've then also got the Beef Sandwich and then the Gigantify
10:32
potion as well. With that potion it increases your max health, makes you immune to force
10:38
movement effects and then with that Beef Sandwich it's going to increase max health and increase
10:43
the duration of your crowd control effects as well. There's no set rotation in small
10:47
scale PvP as you need to be much more reactive to the quick changing environment and utilise
10:52
these skills at the best possible moment to turn the tides during battle. The skills we've
10:57
got here include Sacred Ground which silences and slows enemies inside the circle. We've
11:03
then got Snare Charge so you jump to enemies and root them and interrupt them. We've also
11:08
got Battle Howl so it summons a circle that silences enemies and purges all their buffs
11:14
when hit. With that we put Dread Laden Fighting so increase the duration of crowd control
11:19
effects. Then we've got Force Shield to increase damage, resistance and healing received for
11:25
you and your group members that are stood inside the area. Combine that with a bit of
11:28
toughness for increased defence. Then we've got Meditation, this increases your cooldown
11:34
rate. Balance Mind to increase your damage and your healing cast and increase in defence
11:39
as well. Then we've got Crush Charge to dash through enemies knocking, dealing damage and
11:44
stunning them if they collide with the environment. Add a bit more defence on there. Next we move
11:49
on to our off tank build. This build is used for large group PvE content. This content
11:55
is usually quite optimised and organised. You'll often have to follow the request of
12:00
your raid leader so this build aids as a guideline of what to level up and pre-plan before going
12:06
into those large group environments. There are typically two tanks in this content but
12:11
this build is for the off tank who will typically not lead the group, with the primary role
12:16
being to aggro and clump enemies and then on bosses you'll help to reduce incoming damage
12:21
towards group members. The suggested IP for this build would be 1400+. The content you're
12:27
going to be looking at doing is those Avalonian Elite Dungeons and large group PvE content
12:32
and you want to be aiming for tier 8 plus on this gear as well. The gear you're going
12:36
to be using with this build include the Soldier Helmet, that Guardian Armour, Royal Shoes
12:43
and then we've got the Incubus Mace with the Astral Aegis Shield. With this you also
12:47
want to use the Kaelian Cape which will reset the cooldown of your weapon's first slot
12:52
ability after you cast it. Now there is a kind of rotation you want to go with for this
12:57
build and that will usually consist of going in with Threatening Smash to gain aggro of
13:02
enemies. Then you want to use Air Compressor to clump mobs together but only use this on
13:07
Avalonian Acolytes, Drones, Monks and Spearmen as the other adds won't be able to be pulled
13:12
in with this ability. Once you've done that you then want to turn to the enemies and use
13:16
Shrinking Curse to debuff enemies and increase the group's DPS. For this you want to use
13:20
Energetic because you need to have that energy for casting these skills. You then need Taunt
13:25
so that you can pick up aggro of loose enemies. Toughness to increase your defence, these
13:30
enemies are going to hit you really hard and Protective Instinct for that threat generation
13:33
And then your last two skills, you've got Block and you've got Refreshing Sprint. These
13:39
are both just used to survive attacks from enemies. So movement speed, cooldown rate
13:44
increased with this one, that's going to be really helpful. And then Blocking obviously to block attacks so you don't take as much damage. You want to increase your defence
13:50
on everything because that's going to be really important. And then Quick Thinker to
13:54
increase your cooldown rate. The Poison Potions here are used again so you throw these at
13:59
the enemy, they take direct damage, they're slowed down. And then the Poor Comet is really
14:03
important to increase your cast speed and cooldown rate. You might be asked to switch
14:08
your off-hand to Mistcaller, the head to Guardian Helmet or the Assassin Hood, and
14:12
also your armour to Royal Armour. The skills you'll use here, Defensive Slam, increase
14:17
your group damage resistance for you and your group. You'll then also use Guard Rune, which
14:23
is another group damage resistance buff. Shrinking Curse to debuff enemies and increase group
14:28
DPS. Enfeebling Aura, so create an aura that reduces incoming damage to you and allies
14:35
Emergency Shield to provide a group shield absorbing damage and cleansing all damage
14:40
over time effects. And then also Refreshing Sprint, increase that movement speed and cooldown rate
14:46
My next build is a ZvZ offensive tank build. Tanks are crucial in large scale PvP battles
14:53
As an offensive tank, there are many great setups and groups will often require multiple
14:58
tanks in different gear setups. You should first ask your group leader if they have a
15:03
specific setup they would like you to wear. In group PvP situations, you'll be expected
15:08
to support your group with clumping enemies and leading your group into battle. This is
15:13
just one of multiple offensive tank setups you could use in ZvZ content. Most groups
15:19
will often have four offensive tanks in different setups. The suggested IP for this build is
15:25
1400+. The content you're going to be doing is that PvP, that Zerg vs Zerg content, and
15:31
you want to hit that tier 8 plus if you can to get the most benefit and to reach that
15:35
IP level. For this build, you're going to have Knight Helmet, so it's going to be that plate armor
15:39
which is already going to be leveled up which is really good. We've also got Judicator Armor
15:43
We're also using Hunter Shoes. We're using the Mace along with the Taproot which increases
15:49
max health and health regen. We've also got the Martlock Cape to give us that shield and
15:55
defense when our health drops low. It's also a good idea to have the Swift Claw mount for
16:02
this. This is one of the better PvP mounts and one of the cheaper ones to get as well
16:06
Then alongside that, we've got the Avalonian Pork Omelette and the Major Resistance Potion
16:12
Now usually you'll have a group lead who may possibly call for certain actions at specific
16:18
times on certain targets, so you need to listen for callouts when you're in a large PvP group
16:24
because that is how PvP is organized. You want to be in a group where people are calling these
16:29
things out. The skills you're going to use include Sacred Ground, Silence and Slow enemies
16:35
You've got Air Compressor to clump enemies together and make it easy for your damage
16:39
dealers to drop their AoEs down and kill people. You've also got Deep Leap so you want to leap
16:44
into the enemies and it slows and stuns them. We've also got Energetic to get those auto
16:49
attacks restoring energy. Then you've got Force Shield to increase resistances and healing received
16:54
for you and allies. Toughness for increased defense. Then you've got Displacement Immunity. It makes allies
17:00
immune to forced movement effects alongside increased defense. We've then got Rush. It increases your
17:07
movement speed but vitally also buffs your crowd control effects as well. Then you've got Quick
17:13
Thinker to increase your cooldown rate. Obviously the Major Resistance Potion is going to increase
17:17
your defense and your crowd control resistance. Then the Omelette is going to increase your cast
17:22
speed, cooldown rate and your defense. Now when we switch over to a more defensive tank build for
17:28
ZvZ content, you are also important in large-scale PvP but they are played very differently to
17:34
offensive tanks. In group PvP situations you'll be expected to support your group with defensive
17:39
support and disrupting enemies rather than focusing on enemy crowd control and leading the charge
17:45
Once again there are multiple setups that are expected by group leaders and ZvZ groups will
17:50
often have multiple defensive tanks and this is just one example. Again the suggested IP for this
17:56
will be 1400+. And for this one you're going to go with that Adjudicator Helmet, the Guardian Armor
18:02
the Face Scale Sandals. We're also going to be using the Grove Keeper as the weapon. You want
18:08
to have that Martelot Cape in there again and also the Swift Claw Mount if you can. Avalonian Pork
18:14
Omelette, Major Resistance Potion and that completes this build. Now the skills here are a little bit
18:20
different so you are going to go for Powerful Swing so it knocks back enemies and makes them
18:24
take more physical damage. You're also going to use Inertia Ring so it slows enemies, ignoring CC
18:30
resistance which is really really good. You've then got Ground Pound, leap to enemies, stun them
18:35
and increase your resistance. Get that increased energy from auto attacks. We've then got Enfeebling
18:41
Aura so reduce incoming damage for you and your group and slows enemies and reveals invisible
18:46
enemies. Toughness to increase the defense. You've got Electric Discharge to stun enemies alongside a
18:54
bit more toughness. And then we've got Energetic Sprint to increase move speed and energy restore
19:01
A bit of concentration there for the cast times and again resistance potions increase your defense
19:07
and your crowd control resistance and then also that omelette is going to increase your cast speed
19:13
cooldown rate and defense. So that is everything for my top six Albion Online Tank Builds for 2024
19:22
If you've got any questions feel free to join me over on the Tank Club Discord or drop a comment
19:28
below. Please let me know what your favorite builds are and if there's anything that you
19:31
like to do differently. Thank you very much for watching and I'll see you next time. Bye bye for now
