Tarisland Tank Classes

Tarisland offers three classes that can take on the role of a Tank, each providing unique playstyles and different benefits for group content. Choosing the right Tank class depends on your personal preference and playstyle, as each is equally viable for tanking in different scenarios.

Each Tank class has access to both a single target taunt and an AoE taunt within their Ultimate skills. Additionally, playing as a Tank grants your group an aura buff called Firmness during Raids, which increases group Physical DEF by 2%.

Here’s a breakdown of the Tank specializations available in Tarisland.

Barbarian Fighter

The Barbarian Fighter class features a Tank specialization called Frozen. Harnessing the power of ice, the Frozen specialization enables Barbarians to withstand severe blows and counterattack with chilling effects. At the core of this specialization is the ability to accumulate Frozen Runes and convert them into a powerful HP Shield.

Barbarians can significantly increase their defense to minimize incoming damage, but their true strength shines in dungeons and arcane realms. Their impressive AoE capabilities allow them to quickly aggro large groups of enemies and then leverage their high defense and HP Shield to manage substantial enemy numbers effectively. Barbarian Tanks are also frequently used in PvP content, where they are particularly strong due to their durability and crowd control abilities.

While their lack of self-healing can be a disadvantage in raid scenarios, minimal HP gains can be achieved through special aptitude effects on gear, partially mitigating this weakness.

Paladin

The Paladin class boasts a Tank specialization known as Guardian. As a Guardian Paladin, you possess exceptional survival capabilities and excel at mitigating high incoming damage. Progressing as a Paladin enhances your cooldown rate, allowing you to maintain a 100% holy fire uptime and access damage reduction and shield skills more frequently.

Guardian Paladins are adept at reducing incoming damage and self-healing, making them a formidable choice for tanking, especially in raid content. Their robust abilities enable them to handle raid mechanics efficiently, often managing as a solo tank in scenarios where two tanks are typically required. This combination of defensive strength and self-sustainability makes the Guardian Paladin a top-tier option for any tanking role.

Warrior

Warriors can take on the Tank role through their War Shield specialization. This specialization focuses on brute strength and resilience to absorb damage and control the battlefield. Warriors with the War Shield specialization excel at crowd control and damage mitigation, making them formidable front-liners in any group composition.

Warriors can debuff enemies by reducing their damage and movement speed, while also stacking extra resilience and creating solid damage shields. They possess excellent emergency healing capabilities and overall damage reduction. Remarkably, Warriors can deal substantial DPS in AoE situations with their Storm Trample ability. This ability reduces its own cooldown when hitting multiple enemies, allowing it to be spammed for significant AoE damage.

The main challenge for Warriors is managing their Action Points (AP). AP regenerates over time with basic attacks, and most skills require AP to cast. This means Warriors need to manage both skill cooldowns and AP. Their primary defensive skill requires AP to build up Toughness, which is then converted into a barrier.

If you prefer a higher damage Tank for faster content clears, the Warrior is an excellent choice, offering more DPS than other Tank classes.
