Should You Be Using Frost Clench?
Frost Clench is a skill that has been updated with the most recent patch the Lost Depths and the main thing that has been adjusted is the range.
Commonly people wouldn’t use Frost Clench OR they used both Frost Clench and Inner Fire due to the lack of range.
Frost Clench now has a 28-metre range the same as Inner Fire but is it time to switch them over?
The Positives
Frost Clench offers a huge amount of benefit:
- Magicka 28m Range Taunt.
- Causes the chilled effect as a guarantee when used.
- Applies Major Maim reducing the enemies damage by 10%.
- The chilled effect applies Minor Maim reducing the enemies damage by 5%.
- The chilled effect also applies Minor Brittle increasing the amount of critical damage the enemy receives by 10%.
The Negatives
Frost Clench has a few things you need to think about
- If you use it against weak enemies, they get immobilised away from you which is the opposite of what you want to do.
- If you bar swap too quickly when using it, you don’t get the Minor Brittle, so wait until it hit the enemy before swapping.
- Short duration. This is the most reliable way to guarantee the chilled effect, but the duration is short, and you need to recast every 4-5 seconds.
Should You Use It?
Absolutely. By not using this skill you miss out on some great benefits to yourself with the 15% damage reduction, but this also applies to any damage the enemy does to your group. It’s also giving your group a DPS increase with Minor Brittle so this is a skill you should be 100% using now.
