Huge New Ravendawn Expansion Horizon’s Call
Today, we’re diving into the latest Ravendawn expansion, titled “Horizon’s Call,” dropping on August 9th, 2024. Ravendawn is a free-to-play MMORPG that launched back in January 2024, and this new update is set to be absolutely massive. It’s packed with features that are sure to bring back those nostalgic vibes while introducing some epic new content. So, let’s jump right in and see what’s in store!
Ravendawn Horizon’s Call Pre-Patch
First off, let’s talk about some updates you can already experience in-game. The Adventure Board is a daily task system designed to help you catch up on experience points (XP) by completing simple tasks like farming or slaying enemies. It’s a great way to get a hefty chunk of XP without too much hassle.
The Ranger’s Company has also seen an update. You can now stack charges, allowing you to complete tasks as often as you want, provided you have the charges. This makes the game more accessible and rewarding. Plus, there are Gear Chest Rewards from the North Star Quests, offering gear upgrades at levels 15 (T2), 25 (T3), and 40 (T4) – perfect if market gear prices are a bit steep.
One of the most exciting changes is the new Aggro System and Threat Generation. Previously, enemies would randomly attack players, making tanking a bit of a nightmare. Now, with threat increase and reduction abilities, you can finally play as a tank effectively, especially if you use the Protection or Warfare archetypes.
New Featured in Ravendawn Horizon’s Call
Aether Echoes
This expansion introduces Aether Echoes, a phased group boss fight system. Gather a group of 2 to 4 players and challenge one of the 10 Aether Echoes on the west side of Ravencrest using an Aether Echo Scroll. There are four difficulties, and you can repeat these fights to earn high-level materials, augmenting stones, and Aether Echo trophies.
Aether Rifts
Next up, we have Aether Rifts – a dynamic, competitive PvPvE arena. Enter a nightmare dimension to fight 1v1 or 2v2 against other players and PvE enemies, including a boss! Winning rifts grants you Aether Echo Scrolls, Aether Marked Runes, Rift Trophies, Player Titles, and more. You can practice beforehand with the new duelling system, which supports party group duels with no death penalties.
Guild Wars and Banks
Guilds get a major spotlight in this expansion. Guild Banks are now available, allowing members to contribute collectively. This is crucial for Guild Wars, where every Saturday, guilds can engage in 15v15 battles. The top 20 guilds with the highest silver bids will fight for guild forts. These forts are large areas accessible to the winning guild, complete with rooms and a Warforge to enhance gear.
Plunder Channel
For those who love a good risk-reward scenario, the Plunder Channel is a new high-risk PvP zone. Pay a silver deposit to enter, and if you die, you’ll drop a chest with your deposit. Surviving here grants a 25% increase in tradepack value, XP, and rare loot rate.
Gear and Professions
The update brings new gear options like Warforging, which boosts your gear’s stats and weapon skills. There’s also new Tier 7 Gear for players at legacy level 75, and an augmenting system to further enhance gear using augmenting stones from Aether Echoes. Legendary rings can now be obtained and paired for additional benefits.
New Professions: Alchemy and Herbalism
Two new professions, Alchemy and Herbalism, are being added. Herbalism lets you gather rare herbs and mushrooms or grow them on your land. Alchemy then uses these ingredients to craft potions, elixirs, poisons, and breeding boosters.
