Introduction to Raven Cards
Raven Cards are an integral component of the RavenUniverse, allowing players to enhance their character’s combat abilities through a unique card collection system. In this guide, we’ll delve into the mechanics of Raven Cards, how to obtain and upgrade them, and their impact on gameplay.
Understanding RavenCards
RavenCards are a set of 192 full art cards designed to augment your character’s abilities within the game. Each skill your character can learn is associated with two specific Raven Cards, offering diverse functionality and allowing for a customized combat experience. Depending on the card applied, a skill might heal your character, cause additional damage, synergize with other skills, provide buffs, or debuff enemies.
Acquiring RavenCards
To start collecting RavenCards, players must first acquire RavenPacks using Dawn Essence, a special in-game currency. Dawn Essence can be earned through several activities:
- Levelling up
- Completing North Star Quests
- Collecting Supply Bags from defeated enemies, crafting, and gathering
Additionally, players can also dismantle unwanted or low-level gear at NPC Selenia’s location in Ravencrest, directly in front of the bank, to gain more Dawn Essence. An alternative method to gain packs is by watching partnered streamers on Twitch during active drop campaigns.
Purchasing and Opening Raven Packs
Once you have accumulated enough Dawn Essence, you can purchase Raven Packs by accessing the RavenCard interface in the game. Simply press ‘G’ on your keyboard, navigate to the packs tab, and click on the ‘Get Raven Packs’ button. Each pack costs 300 Dawn Essence and contains five RavenCards. It is important to note that Raven Packs cannot be purchased with real money nor traded between players.
Dealing with Duplicates
When opening packs, receiving duplicate cards is not uncommon. Duplicates are automatically deconstructed into RavenShards, with the number of shards depending on the rarity of the duplicated card. These shards are crucial as they are used to upgrade the rarity of your existing RavenCards.
Upgrading RavenCards
RavenCards can be upgraded through the collections tab. Select the card you wish to enhance and view the required shard cost for upgrading its rarity. There are seven levels of rarity, each increasing the effectiveness of the card’s impact on your skills.
The Pity System
To assist players in acquiring higher rarity cards, the game includes a pity system. Each pack opened increases your chances of obtaining a higher rarity card by 1%, ensuring that your odds improve with each attempt.
Equipping RavenCards
To equip a RavenCard, access your skill tree by pressing ‘K’ or selecting it from the menu. Toggle to the card interface, select a skill, and view the available cards for that skill. Cards not yet owned will be locked. Hovering over a card will display its effects and rarity. Simply click on a card and select the equip option to apply its effects to your skill.
Conclusion
RavenCards offer a strategic layer to customizing your character’s abilities in combat, making each player’s experience unique. By effectively managing your RavenCards, you can create a powerful and personalized combat style that suits your gameplay preferences.
